ChargeWest First Responder READY Event
ChargeWest™ First Responder Ready, led by Utah Clean Cities and Communities through the U.S. Department of Energy Transportation Technologies Office-supported ChargeWest™ initiative, is preparing a post-training media package for partner review following the National First Responder EV and Lithium-Ion Battery Safety Training, held June 3–5, 2026, at Dixie Technical College and the Fire and Public Safety Training Center in St. George, Utah.
After three years of preparation, the training brought together 80 participants from nine western states, including 65 trained first responders and 20 National Park Service fire chiefs and fire leaders representing seven national parks — from Yellowstone and Zion to Yosemite and Grand Canyon — and more than 40 gateway and rural communities across the West.

Our involvement with the ChargeWest™ serves as part of our effort to reduce GHG and build cohesive alternative fuel corridors in the intermountain west. Working as partners within the group we sharing projects ideas, and funding opportunities and best practice lessons along the way.
New Mexico
Developing corridors along state and federal highways in rural New Mexico; assisting with the branding effort associated with EV corridors throughout the state; promoting education related to EVs and EV charging infrastructure through webinars and stakeholder meetings (funding, access, etc.); working to convert state fleets; obtaining stakeholder feedback on EV issues in the state; working on policies that encourage further EV adoption including utility EV transportation plan and the NM Clean Fuel Standard; identifying EV capacity within rural New Mexico.
Utah
The Utah Clean Cities Coalition exists to support organizations and fleets in their effort to contribute to clean air by reducing vehicle emissions. UCC helps organizations and fleets with notifications and access to program grants, strategic planning tools, even and campaign partnerships, school curriculum materials and incentives.
Wyoming
WYDOT is the pass-through agency for NEVI funding and other EV-related grants in Wyoming. WYDOT is a founding member of the Wyoming Zero Emission Vehicle Working Group which is in charge of strategizing ways to maximize use of available ZEV-related funding by communities and businesses.ChargeWest TM Partners

ChargeWest – Connecting the Intermountain West
What Is ChargeWest?
ChargeWestTM is an EV corridor collaborative across eight states in the Intermountain West region. We are committed to improving Electric Corridors throughout rural gateway communities, state and national parks, and scenic byways. The states involved are Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
OUR MISSION: The entire Intermountain West Region will benefit from the ChargeWest project, which aims to support consumer education, stakeholder engagement, and rural infrastructure development of electric vehicle charging from the expansion of Alternative Fuel Corridors.
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Awards Dashboard
The NEVI Awards Dashboard tracks electric vehicle (EV) charging sites funded by states through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The State NEVI Action tab shows progress states have made in implementing the NEVI program. The Award Data page provides a comprehensive look at announced awards and site-specific details, whereas the Analysis page allows an in-depth comparison of specific features of the site.
The Dashboard was created to support additional strategic investments from the private sector and to enable transparency among states as they continue to plan with their peers for a convenient, affordable, and reliable national charging network to meet the growing needs of consumers.
